Talent Director, North America
The Talent Director will develop the overall talent strategy for our NA business which includes offices in DC, Chicago, New York, Raleigh, Seattle and soon to be San Francisco. The Director will serve as a partner to leaders and supervisors to attract and retain their talent, from talent acquisition, through on-boarding, performance management, employee relations, development and total rewards. The Director will lead and/or participate in several initiatives such diversity and inclusion, employee brand development, employee mobility and duty of care.

This senior leader will supervise a team of HR professionals and report to the Chief Talent Officer. Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with North America President, Managing Directors and APCO's leadership to identify key talent management priorities to develop and execute a talent strategy, aligned to business needs
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and across the wider organization, adapting messaging, nuance and tone as required to gain the optimum results
- Proactively engage with the workforce and leadership to form strong, collaborative relationships and be source of advice and counsel; form independent opinions and identify and execute solutions
- Manage and lead a team of HR professionals who are expected to deliver superb levels of support throughout employee life cycle; provide coaching and nurture professional development
- Contribute to best in class employee experience, through on-boarding, career development, performance management, coaching and employee engagement efforts
- Work with the HR team to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Build culture where individuals come together on regular basis to contribute ideas and share views, and where diversity, equity and inclusion are valued
- Work collaboratively with the global HR team to execute on global talent strategy by supporting or leading global HR initiatives
- Actively seek opportunities to streamline and achieve operational excellence
- Available to travel periodically domestically and internationally
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- MA/MBA degree desired or equivalent work experience
- 10-15 years HR Generalist experience
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in a results-oriented environment with a strong client focus and consultative orientation
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, negotiation, writing, speaking, and listening skills
- Ability to think strategically and creatively but also to roll up sleeves and complete tasks
- Navigate ambiguity and complex issues to proactively identify and agree solutions with multiple stakeholders, utilizing good judgment and influencing skills
- Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and practices
- General understanding of global mobility
- Experience working for a global organization a plus
- Professional certification desirable (SCP, GPHR, SPHR, CEBS)
