Personal Attendant (Full-Time)
Background:
29-year-old female diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy seeking a compassionate caregiver to provide effective services that enhance as well as maintain a high quality of life and independence. I am seeking an individual that is passionate about their work, reliable and dependable, possess great listening skills, arrive to work promptly, complete documentation in compliance with Medicaid standards, are open to communication and feedback, enjoy outings, is willing to learn and upholds the professional and personal value of treating clients with quality care and respect.
2 shifts available:
- Mondays-Fridays 11:00 pm-7:00 am; attendant may also be requested to cover other hours if another staff member is absent
- Saturdays & Sundays 7:00 pm-7:00 am; attendant may also be requested to cover other hours if another staff member is absent
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with personal care needs (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, grooming, meal prep, cleaning areas used by the recipient, ensure transportation arrangements are in place, making and changing linens, laundry, and documentation of household supply list)
- Maintain open communication between client's family members and care support personnel regarding physical and emotional condition (as needed)
- A daily documentation of tasks completed for a client
- Participate in onboarding sessions and quarterly staff meetings
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License or Id and reliable transportation
- Current and valid certification as a CNA or PCA in the state of Virginia preferred, but not required
- Current TB screening
- 1-3+ years of experience working with persons who have physical disabilities and/or chronic and acute conditions
- Submit the required application and criminal background check
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to problem solve quickly
Salary:
$9.40 per hour as an attendant through Consumer Direct Care Network. Caregivers can work up to 40 hours per week according to Medicaid regulations.
