Educational Planner

 

Are you a dedicated professional seeking to make a meaningful difference in students' lives? Jefferson Community College, situated in Watertown, New York, and proudly part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, invites applications for the position of full-time Educational Planner.

 

Responsibilities include developing a structured academic plan for assigned students that include career and transfer-driven paths to achieving academic success and completion.  The successful candidate will be passionate about assisting students in achieving their educational goals and will understand the barriers and challenges facing students in higher education, particularly the community college setting. The candidate will be familiar with academic advising, transfer, and career planning. The primary mission is to provide academic planning and transfer guidance to assigned students.  Minimal overnight travel for training and professional development may be required. The Educational Planner will work with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025. This is an in-person position.

 

Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of appropriate professional experience.      

 

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

 

Preferred: Experience in counseling, college admissions, advising or student financial aid is highly desirable.

 

Advertised Salary:  $47,589 - $54,727/yr. for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity.
