The Facility AutoCAD Designer / Drafter / Surveyor will perform design, drafting and building survey services for Mail Processing Plants, Delivery Units and Distribution Centers in support of the US Postal Service Headquarters personnel, working in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. The projects are in support of the nationwide Plant and Process Modernization initiative.
Key Role:
- Working alongside USPS designers on one of the six national design teams responsible for designing and drafting Operation Systems Layouts (OSLs) for new and existing Mail Processing Facilities, Delivery Units and Distribution Centers
- Analyzing Mail Flows through the buildings using AutoCAD drawings as a visual database
- Validate drawing data by traveling to site and measuring existing features
Develop workroom floor concept layouts and provide AutoCAD drafting services for new or existing types of Mail Processing Plants, Delivery Units and Distribution Centers. Provide support to Postal HQ engineers, managers and executives by preparing workroom floor, architecture, equipment and space management drawings using AutoCAD tools, incorporating redline drawings into master CAD files, and managing master CAD files to ensure accuracy and consistency. Travel to site about one week out of every two months.
