The Executive Director is a full-time exempt position, reporting to the TASC, Inc. Board of Directors.  The Executive Director will embrace the values and accountability and responsibility to the agency’s stated mission and demonstrate corporate social responsibility.  The Executive Director will guide the agency ethically, effectively, and efficiently in achieving its mission.

The Executive Director will focus and expand upon six domains for the organization: 

(1) Leadership (ensuring that all programs meet or exceed standards), (2) Communications (ensuring proper communication between the agency and outside entities), (3) Relations with Employees (recruitment of quality applicants while leading and inspiring current employees),  (4) Budget and Finance (preparing an annual budget, negotiating contracts, pursuing funding, and conducting official correspondence and legal documents for the agency), (5) Risk Management (oversee risk management activities and identify potential threats, (6) Affirmative Action Officer (develop, manage, implement, monitor and assist the agency plan and assure governmental regulations compliance).

Preferred Qualifications: 

Education:  Advanced degree in relevant field with at least five years of Management, supervisory or administrative experience.

Experience in Medicaid funding and Iowa waiver programs preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a diverse and cohesive staff.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all policies and procedures that apply to this position.
  • Experience in management of a non-profit agency; proven financial skills
  • Experience with non-profit fundraising
  • Demonstrated awareness of excellent training practices
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks at the same time.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold self and others accountable.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, including experience with public speaking.

The Executive Director must be able to pass an extensive background check including a criminal history check and checks of sex offender, Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, MVR and monthly OIG/SAM checks, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and physical performance testing.
