Job Purpose
To teach online graduate and undergraduate courses in Public Safety and lead in the development of an online undergraduate degree in Emergency Management. The successful candidate with work to strategically develop and expand online MPS and BPS programs. Must be on campus and teach in the program and promptly respond to student needs. Teaching load will be 12 hours per semester along with committee and research responsibilities. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or needed.

Essential Functions
The successful candidate will design the program, guide the development of courses, collaborate with disciplines across the campus, prepare the appropriate paperwork to guide the program through academic approval process, and recruit students and faculty to participate in the program. To teach online graduate and undergraduate courses in Public Safety and lead in the development of an online undergraduate degree in Emergency Management. The successful candidate with work to strategically develop and expand online MPS and BPS programs. Must be on campus and teach in the program and promptly respond to student needs. Teaching load will be 12 hours per semester along with committee and research responsibilities. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or needed. Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate in professional studies or public safety or emergency management or closely related field from an accredited institution. Excellent teaching experience with a commitment to innovative teaching. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit. Demonstrated teamwork characteristics and ability to work with various disciplines across the university. Minimum 3 years college teaching experience (adjunct teaching included), prior online teaching experience, and online course/program development. Must be eligible to work/teach in the United States without university support.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in collaborative activities, experience in working with adjunct faculty members. Experience with professional organizations and/or public service experience. Vision to develop a program that promotes technology adept, analytically capable, and career-ready graduates. Relevant in-the-field emergency management experience. Scholarly accomplishments that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes, and an established research agenda. Experience in developing and teaching online and face-to-face courses in the field of emergency management.

Work Hours:

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. This is a 3 year nontenure-track term appointment, renewable based on performance and needs of department.
