College of Nursing has an opening for a full-time (1.00 FTE) Faculty position that will serve as the Specialty Director of the Acute Care Pediatric NP Program. Faculty rank and track will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for a faculty position for the Acute Care Pediatric NP program with designated time to serve in the role of Specialty Director. Faculty rank and track will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have recent acute care pediatric experience and a track record of excellence in academic and clinical teaching. Responsibilities include participation in the teaching, practice, and service mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Colorado. Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development is preferred. A portion of the position may be devoted to clinical practice depending on the candidate's experience and expertise. Within the College of Nursing, service and scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of all faculty members.
This position involves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities as well as administrative responsibility for the Acute Care Pediatric NP Program including securing clinical placements for graduate students. Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinical courses includes clinical conferences in the classroom using online conferencing and close communication with clinical preceptors.
Duties:
- Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.
- Provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace.
- Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics as well as personal and professional development.
- Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing as well as abide by the mandates set by the University of Colorado, and the College of Nursing.
- Suggests teaching assignments within the Acute Care Pediatrics NP Program as well as accepting teaching assignments as determined by Assistant/Associate Dean.
- Participates in course, curricular and program revisions / development.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters in Nursing with the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty focus.
- Experience in academic teaching in nursing, specifically in pediatric acute care NP course content.
- Minimum of four years' experience working on Academic Medical campus as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Eligible for Colorado State Nursing License, in good standing.
- Hold current certification for Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP - AC) through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution such as a DNP or PhD
- Track record of pediatric professional nursing involvement in scholarship activities such as presentations, publication, or board membership.
- Dual certification in both primary and acute care PNP
- Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development
- Qualified for rank of Assistant Professor or higher
