Position title: Workday Analyst - Graduate Student Functional Lead

The Elevate Program is moving the University of Maryland Fearlessly Forward, leading the transition from legacy mainframe student systems to the next generation of administrative computing.

 

We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced leader to join our team as the Graduate Student Functional Lead. The incumbent will lead all aspects of this cross-functional Graduate Student Workstream as part of the Elevate Program’s Workday Student implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Student leadership team, shaping the future of the Graduate Student experience at the University of Maryland.

 

The incumbent will provide strong leadership and direction in all aspects of the Graduate Student workstream. This role will be one of multiple Functional Workstream Lead positions, reporting directly to the Student Product Owner in the Division of Information Technology (DIT).

 

This is a full-time, permanent position with the ERP team in DIT. Following implementation of Workday Student, the incumbent will transition to a post-production support role responsible for ongoing management of Graduate Student functionality in Workday. This position is considered an essential position and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of University services.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Experience: 

* Minimum of five (5+) years’ experience with Graduate Student operations in a Higher Education environment

* In-depth knowledge of Student information systems, particularly in the area of Graduate Student education

* Experience with Student support, problem identification, and resolution

* Expertise with office productivity applications such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints

* Ability to work as part of a team and with members of other functional/technical teams to identify action items, team member responsibilities, etc.

* Ability to understand possible impacts to changes to a highly integrated system, determine the depth/breadth of testing necessary to minimize risk of system changes, execute and record results of testing (including data staging), etc.

* Analytical abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving competencies to support non-standard,unique problem resolution

* Knowledge of Graduate Student life cycle, regulatory requirements, and current business challenges

* Exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship and conflict management

 

Preferences:

* Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university

* Experience implementing or using a modern student information system

* Experience with large-scale, cross-functional technology implementations in an institution of higher education

* Experience in change management or project management

* Experience managing relationships with implementation partners

Salary range: $105,000-$115,000

The incumbent works in an office environment and the position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to attend meetings on and off campus.
