Join our team at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Kathryn A. Martin Library as the Publishing and Authorship Librarian. In this role, you will lead the library’s outreach and education efforts on copyright, publishing, open access, and research data management. You will collaborate closely with colleagues both locally and across the university to advance open scholarship at UMD.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Lead library efforts to advance open scholarship initiatives in collaboration with UMD and University Libraries colleagues.
  • Serve as a dedicated liaison to the Graduate School and UMD research institutes, offering tailored scholarly communications support.
  • Provide expertise, guidance, and consultation on publishing and copyright to library staff members and the UMD campus community.
  • Partner with liaison librarians to encourage adoption of open pedagogy and empower students to participate in the scholarly conversation.

What you'll need:  

  • ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or equivalent combination of advanced degree and relevant experience
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative relationships with colleagues, library users, and/or community partners
  • Demonstrated understanding of current and emerging trends in open scholarship and publishing
  • Demonstrated experience with proposing and/or implementing actions that improve equity and inclusion in your work

What we provide (P&A):  

  • Annual salary in the range of $50,000 - $53,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Potential relocation assistance is available.
  • Eligible for hybrid on-site and remote work under the University's Flexible Work Arrangement program.
