Job Description

TheOfficeofStudentEngagementis seekinga collaborative,student-centeredprofessionaltofilltheroleofCoordinatorforStudentInvolvementandserveastheprimaryadvisorforprogramsandservicesassociatedwiththeOrganizationResourceGroup(ORG).Programsandservicesinclude,butarenotlimitedto,studentorganizationrecognitionandre-registration,training,andallocationoftheStudentActivityFeeforStudentOrganizations.Thisposition isresponsibleforhiring,training,andsupervisingapproximately5studentemployees. Additionally,thispositionwillserveas aresourcetostudentorganizationleadersandaid inthedevelopmentofleadership,riskmanagement,eventplanning,andotherskillsnecessarytosupportstudentorganizationleaderswhocomplimenttheacademicmissionthrougheducational,social,andrecreationalexperiencesthatencouragestudentengagement,senseofbelonging,andaffiliationwithMU.

This full-time professionalstaff position will report directlyto the Assistant Director for Student Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs. Candidates from underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Advise and support Organization Resource Group (ORG) students; facilitate staff meetings; one-on-one meetings; and, assigned programs and events sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement.
  • Assist in the management, oversight, and direction for support services for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) and student organization advisors.
  • Oversee processes for student organization recognition, re-registration, roster management, and the allocation of the Student Activity Fee for Student Organizations.
  • Assist in implementation and coordination of the student organization data management system, MU Engage.
  • Advise,assist, and trainstudentleadersand organizationadvisorsonissuesand policies affectingstudent organizationsand variousaspectsoforganizationand eventoperationsincluding,butnotlimitedto,use ofUniversity facilities,developmentand interpretationofthe organization's constitution,eventplanningand management, budgetingand fiscalmanagement,risk management.
  • Prioritize and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and in programming/services.
  • Serve as a resource and provide general assistance to students, faculty, and staff on various issues affecting student organizations and events at the University.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationshipswith awide range of Universityoffices and departments, including but not limited to MizzouRec, Fraternityand SororityLife, Student Accountability and Support, and the Office of Reservations& Events.
  • Ensure that student leaders and department are in compliance with University fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with greater departmental programming efforts and initiatives for the campus community including but not limited to Tap Day, Welcome Week, and Fall and Winter Involvement Weeks.
  • Research and assist with the development, assessment, and maintenance of a robust student organization classification system.
  • Supervise undergraduate student employees.
  • Manage payroll for student employees.
  • Assist with assessment efforts to measure student engagement, sense of belonging and affiliation with MU. Utilize assessment data to make continuous program improvements.
  • Serve on departmental and divisional committees as needed.
  • As with all positions, other duties and responsibilities are expected to enhance and maintain ourdepartmental and Student Affairs mission.
Shift

8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

· Master'sdegree

· Must possess a philosophy of student development and the ability to problem-solve.

· Be highly creative and possess energy and enthusiasm to elicit the support and participation of students.

· Have a positive and friendly disposition, possess flexibility, and effective communication skills

· Can take initiative and to work independently.

· Be available to work evenings and weekends and be a team player.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.50-$26.00 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis
